IntroductionTLDR : The following text is virtually identical to that which appears on the Planetary ID Chart page. If you have already read that text, then please ignore the following and immediately scroll down to the chart itself. This page is currently being rebuilt and expanded. All the previous data is present, and listed in the correct order. Supporting "legends" etc., will be furnished over the next month, along with a separate page dealing with the nature of planets, GATES and Splines called STAR GATES 101. Meanwhile, set out below is an alpha-numeric listing of all the known planets and their GATES reachable via the UK STAR GATE, complete with links to their operational reports, detailing missions and resulting intelligence, proceeded by a brief overview. OverviewA "STAR GATE" is a very large static ancient device of extraterrestrial origin that resembles a natural rock outcrop, normally found partially buried in the ground. They enable faster than light travel between multiple worlds via a traversable tunnel through space-time called an Einstein–Rosen Bridge, more popularly known as a wormhole. Seventy eight such devices were discovered in 1928 at what became BASE-78 (now lost) on the site of Lake Vostok in Antarctica. Fortunately five of its smallest GATES had been removed shortly before the base suffered a fatal Foothold situation necessitating the activation of its self-destruct system in April of 1999. These GATES are now in service with the top secret U.N. STAR GATE COMMAND. This is currently being run by Executive Resources, a Private Military Company or PMC, contracted to the five permenant members of the U.N. Security Council, under the egis of the CONTACT Program, the publicly acknowledged U.N. Marine Corps study group's planning for a response to the possibility of a hostile first contact situation. Individual STAR GATES or modules are part of a linear structure called a Spline, which resembles a very long thin loaf of sliced bread, in which the GATES equate to the slices. A permenant wormhole exists along the entire length of the Spline, so that when cut off from the end of the in tact Spline, the GATES remain connected. Initially a Spline functions as an automatic inter-galactic vessel depositing modules that serve as gateways to other worlds from the surface of suitable Earth like planets, and through the use of ABC*, take control of the evolution of their biospheres. Fossile evidence indicates this process began around 3.5 billion years ago, and 'may' still be ongoing. * ABC or Alien Biological Contaminant, aka nanites, are nano-tech sized bio-mechanical non-replicating virus like machines, believed to have been created by the networks builders to control and protect their colonies. Humans who are contaminated are turned in to what is classified as Type 1 (T1) hostiles, hence the use of respirators and chemical warfare suits by off-world "SG" teams. On each planet several clusters of GATES from the same Spline and from others are laid out in rings about a mile or so across, at different points around the planet. This enables movement both across and between planets, as well as providing a degree of redundency in the event of a malfunction or loss. However, the recorded number of GATES appears to be excessively high in comparison to the number of actual planets discovered so far. This anomaly in the data can possibly be best explained by a critique of the methodology for the initial recording of the existance of extraterrestrial GATES. Flight crews, known as "SG Teams" were issued with a Gravitometer, a sensor designed to map a Spline through its gravitational peaks and troughs. It was at the time believed that all significant signal spikes were evidence of a GATE. However, there is now some doubt about these results. Indeed, it is more than likely that many if not most of these signals resulted in the erronious identification of multiple False GATES. Therefore it is currently estimated that up to 99.5% of all registered GATES do not exist. All known Splines are rooted on what is believed to be "The Builder's" homeworld. This is located in a galaxy beyond the Light Horizon of the visible universe, set in a decaying orbit around a Super Massive Black Hole. The evidence to date suggests that The Builders designated as Alien Species #1 (AS#1) are extinct. The only other alien life (AS#2) so far identified, known as worms, have a life cycle that involves natural (non-technologically assisted) interstellar flight to prey planets, the bio-spheres of which they consume. This is followed by climate collapse, resulting in the planet entering what is called a snowball state, meaning that its GATES are buried and thus inaccessible. We believe this is in part a defensive posture by the ABC effectively denying AS#2 access to the GATE network. It is hypothesised that The Builders inadvertently released the Worms from their home galaxy approximately 600~700 million years ago, and in response set there homeworld in to its death spiral with the intent of trapping AS#2 wherever they are currently located, by destroying the GATE network and the planets they stand on, through the gravitational effect of the Super Massive Black Hole. GATES can be rendered inoperable through natural processes such as volcanism, plate techtonics, in particular subduction, or simply by burying or submerging in water, snow, ice, soil or rock. However to date the only known method for their physical destruction is by the means of a low yield nuclear weapon, greater than 0.5kt. This does not only destroy the GATE, but it also severs the Spline at that point. GATES either side of the missing one, continue to function, but only to that portion of the Spline that remains in tact, the resulting gap cannot be bridged. Leaving aside the issue of False GATES, this is why, it is believed that so much redundency was built in to the network, making it function more like a web. This also makes isolating portions of the network from the threat posed by the Super Massive Black Hole extremely problematical. For example, from time to time newly discovered GATES are found upon the Earth, thus if only one remains, when the alien homeworld finally passes beyond the Event Horizon and is destroyed by the gravitational tides, then so will the Earth. It, along with every other networked world, will be turned inside out and sucked in to the Black Hole. At each end of a Spline is what is referred to as a "seed" GATE, which is too small for animal or human to transit. Splines are grown between these "seeds", and always result in a Spline of usable GATES that is a Fibonacci number. The UK Spline designated SG51 is the 6th GATE in a Spline containing 1,597, but due to multiple deployment of the modules, this represents a relatively small number of actual planets in total. GATEWATCH is the system that monitors the Spline, and can to a limited degree forecast natural activations, believed to be part of a self diagnostic system, which prior to the late development of the XAD1471* equipment, enabled us to have restricted travel along the network. In essence this can be thought of in terms of weather, wherein periodic interplanetary travel could be undertaken during the activation cycles which occured approximately one to six times per solar year. * The XAD1471 or Experimental Alien Derived (device number) 1471, is a large piece of plant housed in the GATE Tunnel, that enables, to a limited degree, control of our STAR GATE, by forcing it to activate forming a connection to or from another GATE, at the time of our choosing. The EntriesGATE entries that are not as yet identified as being on a planet lie within a block of GATES headed with "P000". Where as those GATES that are confirmed as being on a planet, begin with the planets common shorthand designation e.g. "P617", followed by its full title including the Spline prefix. The UK prefix is "SG51-", thus "SG51-P617". The "P" for "Planet" number is made up from the operational CON number and its individual mission number on which the planet was first visited as part of the CONTACT Programme, either as a Pathfinder or as a Reconnaissance mission, depending on whether or not the target had been previously explored or colonised before 1996. Note that the subsequent sets of expressions are from previous cataloging systems, that you may come across in older records included here for archival reference. Other planetary identifiers such as names or significant features may also appear in this initial part of the entry. To see these planets listed numerically in there chronological order of discovery since 1996, see the Planetary ID Chart page. The individual GATES are identified by their "G-" number which is their positional ordinal within the Spline, which for the UK Spline ranges from 0 to 1598, including the two "seed" GATES. The figure following the equals sign after the "G" reference is a Prime number, being the mass of each GATE. To convert to metric tons simply multiply this value by 1.0272727. This is necessary because the Builders did not use our units of measure. Note that the largest module is always the middle GATE within a Spline. An individual mission is marked by its 3 digit "CON-#", a decimal point separator, and the mission number within that operation, e.g. "CON-061.7" being the 7th mission of the 61st operation. The planet explored as a Pathfinder mission was in this case designated "P617" as a result. The large "X" marks a planet believe to be in a Snowball<> state and therefore inaccessible. |
