As SSI Inc. is the prime contractor for the XAD1471 system their staff have absolute authority during the on-going work on Floor 1 of RGHQ-51. With the exception of the related missions, the Gate Tower is for the duration of this operation strictly off limits to ALL UNMC personnel. Note that with the exception of flights using the XAD1471, only a basic flight service is available for your missions during CON-67. Flight crews MUST take extra special care in the Gate Tower as many systems remain exposed (6kv) for on-going repairs and the installation work. It is not practical to shut these sub-systems down, as they constitute essential components of the XAD1471 and the Gatewatch systems. We can not emphasise this enough, two SSI engineers were fatally injured earlier this month due to their negligence.
During CON-66 the aggregate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment achieved a total of +208% over the pre-CON-52 levels (100%), which is an increase of +11% over those of CON-65. The total M1 ABC level now stands at 307%, that is in excess of tripple the volume detected prior to CON-52 Operation Bannockburn 03/4-6/2005. For the first time recovered levels of the M2 type of ABC has also increased by a factor of ×2 over the pre CON-66 levels, thus exceeding the 1% figure of total ABC. See the ABC Saturation Report by Captain Kira Lewis (RGHQ-51).
Consequencially the precautionary principal dictates that CON-67 will be subject to the Extreme ABC Protection Protocol, as levels are expected to be dangerously high off world. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Note that it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination immediately upon return, to ensure personal and collective safety post flight - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Room 208 has been specially adapted for this purpose. CON-67 will like CON-66 before it conclude with a 10 day mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
As stated in our previous report (CON-65) the CLEGG program has been suspended, and caution is advised if approached off-world by the members of the outstanding team -652. These personnel should be recovered and returned to AREA-52 ASAP. Their Authentication code is "BOSTON", and the details of the team members are shown in the Missing In Action listings document.
2. In the light of #1 above, and the various debriefs post CON-066 Operation Ellandun, the report by DSTL regarding ammunition found embedded in the clothing and equipment worn by First Lieutenant Sackville -West who was wounded in action at the close of Mission 4 of CON-65 Operation Hatfield Chase (06/16/2007), can be viewed in a very different light. The use of the less lethal MKVI rounds by the enemy ambush party, while at the same time Russian and US personnel operating from SITE-54 who sustained casualties wounded with exclusively MkVII ammunition, would appear to have been part of a deliberate plan to ensure the delivery of the disk in to the hands of the UNSGC.
As with CON-66, it is safe to assume that any future casualties sustained by our Regiment during all future operations will be hit with the more lethal MkVII ammunition.
Following the successfull return of the SSI team, the 51st UNMC Engineer Company was despatched to dig out the main defences of FORT BIFROST, being scheduled for return before the end of CON-066, as the ABC level was considered to be too high for extended missions with only respirators and NBC suits for protection. However at the close of the CON-65 cycle the unit had failed to return, and consequentially they have been declared as MIA . See the MIA list document for details.
The intelligence gathered by several CLEGG teams who monitored the planet over many years for enemy activity, having reported non, must be considered as suspect, both in the light of recent events at AREA-50 and the contact with CLEGG-651 made during your mission. It was noted that this CLEGG team carried HE signalling devices, that would have required sophisticated on-world manufacturing, as such materials are rendered inert by passing through a Star Gate. Therefore, it is reasonable to presume that the enemy have some kind of base on VP068, location to be determined. The enemys apparent absence is probably a combination of both the compromise of the CLEGG program, and their low profile in the presence of other regular recon units on what is a planet of strategic importance.
In addition to the strategic objectives established by the current situation, namely, Project Midguard, and the on going issues arising from Fort Apache (VXC105), the recovery of the missing UNMC Engineers and CLEGG-652 for enterogation is raised to a high priority objective.
2. Note that Gates #6-8 connect to G-0002 aka VXC105C, and that initially all flights to and from this planet were suspended following CON-65, however as of CON-67, all S3's may authorise Combat missions at their unit's own discretion, subject to future UNSGCHQ oversight.
3. Note that the inbound Gate activation #11 from G-0737 has been shown in this table, as the option for a T1 activation is available. If the S3 approves a mission, then a request for POW transfer to DSTL should be made well in advance of the proposed launch time.

After Action Report.
We went out on the second gate and arrived on planet to find a cord like vine growing across the gate, which impeded access through the gate.
Deployed in single file, veered left due to difficult terrain, and preceded away from the gate. We made slow progress in the dark, but reached the end of the wood when it became impossible to scale the slope we faced. Pvt. Barbison took samples at this point.
We then heard explosives, shouting and gunfire in the 9 o’clock direction to our line of march. I took the alpha fire team with me to investigate. Two contacts were made, one a struggling Type 1, the other the Preacher, a Type 3. The Preacher mistook me for the Type 1 and I was wounded in the leg, but Frost and Ward put down fire and he moved off. I ordered a pursuit, as it was apparent that our new ammunition was causing him pain. Unfortunately, he eluded us, and the risk of our small team becoming split was too great to continue the pursuit in the dark.
By this time we had missed our first gate back. So we then moved to where we thought the Type 1 was, to try and retrieve him, but could not find him. The Preacher then came back and spouted his usual religious ideas, but I was able to challenge his posturing, and he seemed unwilling engage our team.
Just as our gate activation began we saw two flashing red lights approaching our position. Initially I assumed that these were wounded Type 1s, who were gate walking, but they turned out to be two Type 3s instead. An exchange of fire ensued as the team exfiltrated through the gate; resulting in Barbison taking a hit to a limb, Kelley was hit in the back, but fortunately I was able to grab her. However, I was then hit in my arm and we were lucky to make the exit.
XO Summary.
The Preacher was obviously out to recruit, or punish a Type 1, and was acting in concert with his usual posse. Fortunately, the darkness had hindered their co-ordination, otherwise we would have been in serious trouble. I therefore recommend that this world be tagged as actively hostile to UNSGC personnel.
All other mission objectives were met; recon of the terrain, samples taken and gravitometer readings made (see DSTL Report). All personnel returned, if some of us were slightly worse for wear.
Intelligence Summary: Mission to the former New Greenham Common site. Injury incurred whilst in transit. Trench system and recent grave site found. Multiple contacts made and injuries sustained. Contacts appeared to leave via the gate and no further contacts made till mission gate time.

Mission Debrief:
Uneventful Gate trip, rough travel and Cpt Frost suffered a broken arm in transit due to impact with team members. No problems on leaving transit. Squads advanced away from Gate had a look around, nothing out of the ordinary. Signs of trails no more than 5 hours old, single file tracks, criss crossing the field. Team members observed anti vehicle obstacles, a small building and a trench system down at the bottom of a hill. Upon reaching the bottom of the hill the teams saw that there was a grave in the furthest left trench - name: Tommy Atkins, no DOB or death. The wood of the cross wasn’t weathered indicating it was recent. Other than this the trench system was empty other than various bits of rubbish (cans, Milk Cartons and empty tea packets).
Alpha squad with Cpt Frost were flanking to the left to look at the trench system. Bravo flanking to right.
Bravo made Contact. Sackville-West, Barbison and Rhys were all injured in the fire fight that ensued. Alpha squad moved to try and flank as they couldn’t see where the fire was coming from but couldn’t get through as the area was a triple trench system with bad terrain. Reddman saw 2 people running from the trench system and turning as if to flank Alpha squad but then moving away without engaging. After Alpha had left the trenches and returned back to the open ground the Gate was heard activating. Alpha moved up to secure the gate whilst Bravo held position. With the Gate under friendly control Bravo moved up to position with Alpha. Both teams extracted through the gate with no problems.

Gate transition was typically turbulent and, although Anti-G flight suits were issued for the transit, CPT Frost received a broken arm due to a collision in transit. Due to prior missions to VXC105 this was designated a combat mission with a high likelihood of encountering enemy forces.
The team was split into 2 squads: Frost, Reddman, Ward and Peterson as Alpha; Sackville-West, King, Kelly and Barbison as Beta. I remained unattached, situated between the 2 squads. Moving over the crest of the hill we encountered definite signs of human presence in the area: recent tracks (estimated at within 5 hours old), a small building and anti-vehicle obstacles. On closer approach the anti-vehicle obstacles were found to be wooden and rather flimsy, certainly too flimsy to stop any vehicles. Their use, other than possibly as decoys, is therefore unknown. On even closer approach a trench system became visible; Alpha squad moved left in a flanking manoeuvre so as to enter the trench system at its leftmost entrance. They swept through the trenches without opposition before finding that the trenches were not one large system but rather three smaller, non-interconnecting ones. At about that time Bravo came under fire from somewhere behind the trench system. Sackville-West, Barbison and myself were all hit in the initial attack.
After bandaging myself I ordered Alpha to perform a flanking manoeuvre against the enemy’s estimated right flank whilst Bravo engaged them from their front. However, due to the heavy undergrowth and the terrain between us and the enemy we were unable to get a firm fix on their position. At about 12:50 hours we heard the gate activate behind us. Alpha, who had been unable to break through the trench system to engage the enemy more closely without risking an ambush, retreated towards the gate to secure our rear. Without being able to identify the enemy position and with the gate secured by Alpha squad we extracted through the gate with no further casualties.
Overall this was an unsatisfactory mission. Although everyone performed their duties properly the terrain and fortifications conspired to prevent us from engaging an enemy, whose ambush injured three UNSGC personnel. The only positive to come out of the mission was the intelligence concerning the nature of the fortifications close to the C gate on VX105.
***NEXT REPORT***
This was a very brief mission to investigate a previously hostile world,
VXC105 via the C gate. Owing to history, considered a combat mission. We deployed on world, and began our recon. We came upon the trench system, when the advance somewhat stalled. I received fire whilst trying to spot the enemy positions. I took cover, and some while later received a hit to the chest from an unknown position. After aid from the medic, I assaulted the end of the trench system by crawling into it, with covering fire from my own team. I was still unable to determine the enemy position, but may have been less than communicative about some suspicions I had.
Given the hostile nature of our welcome a few well aimed rounds of reconnaisance by fire may have been indicated. We ran out of time and returned safely to the gate.
XO summary. We encountered well emplaced and hidden hostiles, who kept us from doing a more thorough sweep.
Something new, something stolen :-)

Mission Debrief:
The squad exited the gate that was opened specially for us by Prof. Farquar. To do this Prof. seemed to gather his thoughts and then touched the gate with the inside of his wrists, a wormhole formed and the team entered transit.
The gate transit was rough but we all arrived safely at the edge of a wood leading down to a stream. We formed into 2 squads: Alpha - Rhys, Lewis and King. Bravo Squad - Tachikoma, Redman and Kelly. Tachikoma took point and with Bravo squad moved in a sweep through the woods. Bravo followed and then held position whilst obtaining samples and gravimetric readings, Bravo squad moved further into the woods to do a sweep of the area. Bravo squad found digging tools, shallow mounds/graves and signs of packed lunch leavings.
Alpha squad then heard the Gate activate and this was communicated via radio to Bravo who began to make their way back to the Gate site. Alpha squad took up a defence position and waited. Contact make with one single person who was occasionally shouting what sounded like a single word but possibly in a different language. Rhys challenged him and he brought his weapon up, Rhys fired on him but he managed to get himself to cover. Bravo squad flanked the target to come in behind and the target fired upon them when they came into range. Bravo Squad returned fire and he was put down with a shot to the chest.
Kelly, Rhys and Lewis came up to check and secure him as no party members had a UV light we were unable to determine whether he was contaminated. The man had a heavy backpack on containing an aluminium flight case (see DSTL Report). As it was nearly return Gate time, Kelly and Alpha squad moved up to the gate with the prisoner. Bravo stood back. Redmann reported hearing movement in the undergrowth, possibly footsteps but no second contact was sighted. The Gate activated and both teams left. No casualties for the UNSGC team.

G-0737 was the world on which Professor Farquahar was biologically compromised and although his conversion is (apparently) incomplete he is able to open a gate to it at will. After he opened the gate we moved through, splitting into 2 squads on exit: Myself, Lewis and King in one, Tachikoma, Reddman and Kelly in the other. We swept through the woods until we found a suitable area for taking the required samples; we saw no evidence of habitation during the sweep. LTCOL Tachikoma took her squad on a further sweep through the woods whilst myself and 1LT King stood guard as CPT Lewis carried out the sampling procedures. Whilst sampling was going on we heard the gate activate and took up defensive positions. Shortly thereafter I heard someone moving through the woods occasionally calling out (?) in an unidentified language. When the person approached within about 15 metres, still oblivious to our presence, I called on tem to halt and identify themselves. This resulted in an attempt to flee – slowly. I fired on the bogey who cried out several times, LTCOL Tachikoma and her squad had, while the bogey was approaching, flanked the bogey’s position and also opened fire, rendering the bogey unconscious.
Tachikoma and Reddman moved off to sweep for any further contacts whilst Kelly dealt with the bogey. I moved my squad up to assist Kelly and found the bogey was an Asiatic male, unconscious from a chest wound and wearing a backpack.. After disabling the casualty’s weapon I investigated the backpack and found an aluminium flight case of a type we had recovered previously. As time until gate out was by that point down to about 5 minutes my squad, along with Kelly and the prisoner, made for the gate and secure it, whilst Tachikoma and Reddman continued their search. Reddman believed he heard someone (something?) moving around in the woods, but they were unable to make any sort of contact before gate activation. We extracted with the case and prisoner with no further incident.
On returning to base we examined the case under the appropriate safety procedures and found it contained, as suspected, machined slugs of 95%+ U235, 3 in number. There was a pair of latex gloves in the case but no paperwork of any sort (see DSTL Report). As of this report the prisoner is yet to be interrogated (see transcript below).

Arrived onworld and commenced a sweep of the area. Found a spot that was good for taking samples. I took bravo squad on a perimeter sweep while this was happening. Gate activation heard and Alpha made contact with two unknowns. Bravo returned at best speed and managed to flank one of the unknowns who had become hostile and render him ineffective. Other contact disappeared into the undergrowth. Alpha returned to the gate with Kelley attached. Reddman and myself stood as rear guard to prevent remaining hostile from re-engaging. We could hear him moving, but not see him. Our gate back activated and we exfiltrated without incident.

Mission Debrief:
Both squads exited the gate after a rollercoaster journey but there were no injuries in transit. On arrival Bravo squad moved up a small hill to find a place to encamp as a backstop. White and red flashing lights were seen in the distance. Bravo squad were to remain in position on the hill and not to engage any enemy.
Alpha squad advanced and spent spend an hour on the approach toward the lights, flanking and re flanking and finally approaching the area from a different side. No ambush was sprung. Alpha met up with Bravo squad and Redmann advised that the red light was moving back and forth. Alpha squad moved back to the area, Carter was on point and retrieved the red flashing light with no consequences. It was not moving.
Redmann was sent to remove the white flashing light and was shot as enemy engagement began. Medic patched Redmann up and pulled him back to the RV point. A Cat and mouse game ensued and bogey 1 was causing problems whilst bogey 2 had bugged out. After some fire exchange everything went quiet and grenades were thrown. Tachikoma fired some random shots and one of the bogeys was hit. The body was retrieved and identified as MIA Martin Dale of UNSGC.
Bravo squad took Redman and secured the prisoner (see DSTL Report). Kelley entered Alpha squad. Did a sweep to try and flush out the 2nd bogey. No sign. Teams returned to the gate site and left at activation.
Several injuries but no MIA or KIA. The second hostile was not retrieved.
After Action Reports:
After Action Report.
Arrived onworld and in the distance a red light could be seen, with a flashing white beacon. This is the third time that a UNSGC mission has arrived at night on this world to be faced this problem. It was very dark and difficult to see under the tree canopy. I deployed bravo up slope from the gate and ordered them to form a defensive position.
I took alpha and proceeded along the lower edge of the obvious ambush point, but no attack was sprung on us. We then took a circuitous approach back to the top end of the ambush site, which took about an hour. Again no ambush was sprung as we went past the top of the apparent ambush site, so we moved through and rendezvoused with bravo.
Reddman then reported that he had seen the red light move. This could not be confirmed, but I decided to take alpha back to the top end of the ambush point again leaving bravo to cover our rear. Carter retrieved the red light without incident and I ordered Reddman to retrieve the white flashing beacon. The ambush was then sprung and Reddman went down. We received fire from two contacts and returned the warm welcome we had been given.
I called for Kelley, our medic, as Reddman’s screams were making it difficult to hear the enemy’s movement in the wood. One of the hostiles seemed to be keen to engage and harass us.
One hostile ran back towards the gate and into bravo’s area of fire. After a period of stalking, and exchange of opinions, he was hit. Initially I thought we might be dealing with a Type 3, as he seemed to be hit, but not falling down. However, he turned out to be a Type 1, whom we disarmed and restrained (see DSTL Report). The other contact disappeared into the night never to be seen again.
XO Summary.
I think this was a third time lucky mission. I have no idea why the ambush was not sprung the first time we passed through the bottom of the site, or the second time at the top? However, deploying one fire team to act as a fire support team paid off, and perhaps it was the small size of the approach team that caused the enemy to not fire? I understand the person retrieved was a former RGHQ51 member called Martindale lost during CON-044-S05.

After Action Reports:
After Action Report.
We arrived on world and made our approach to the base through the woods to maintain our cover. When we reached the location designated as Fort Bifrost, we found no sign of any base, or any sign of construction ever having been started, or that there was ever anyone there at all.
We then did a sweep back through the woods to see if we could pick up a trail. Bravo took point during this part of the operation and Sgt. Carter led us along the animal paths. As the squad neared the gate he heard a noise and led us around what was an attempted ambush point. Our manoeuvre took us outside of their effective engagement range and we were able to secure our exit point at the gate. Ineffectual desultory fire was exchanged, just before our return gate activated.
XO Summary.
We appear to have lost the entire 51st UNMC Engineer Company to either the Type 1s that appear to have their Midguard facilities recruitment centre, or some weird time dilation effect.
We did find one spade that may have been from our engineers, but which may have been the other firm’s tools as there were signs of firing scrapes.
***NEXT REPORT***
After Action Report.
We made our way to Bifrost through the woods, and encountered no signs of either enemy activty or our engineers. The proposed site of Bifrost was just that - still pristine, and with no sign whatsover of any activity, friendly, or hostile. We made our way back to the gate, and were engaged ineffectually at maximum range by an enemy force of 2 hostiles just before our exit. Whether we accidentally foiled a putative ambush by the route we chose, or they only arrived in the area later is unknown. We left through the gate without any serious problems.
XO Summary.
To misquote Oscar Wilde, To lose one platoon, UNSGC, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose three looks like carelessness.
Judging by the total lack of any signs of arrival, the most obvious conclusion is that that they are involved in some time warp effect. Hopefully, we'll arrive on world next time to find the works finished, with lots of bored engineers arriving back at some unscheduled time in the future.

Date: 09/29/2007 CON-67 OPERATION HIXTON DOWN
Proceedings recorded by CPT K. Lewis.
Prisoner is fully fit and well having recovered from the chest wound sustained during Mission 3 of CON 67. He is an uninfected human male, of apparently Japanese descent. Approximate age late 30’s, approx height 5’ 8” approx weight 165lbs. The man is not wearing military clothing but is dressed in civilian garb. Prisoner is seated and his arm shackles are released by COL Rhys.
COL Rhys asks the questions in the first part of the interrogation. The prisoner does not appear to speak English or else he is being close mouthed. The prisoner gives away small signs in his face and body that he does understand the questions being asked in English. Rhys asks his name and he does not answer. When Rhys asks him whether he will speak truthfully and not lie the prisoner gives a slight flush to the cheeks. Rhys advises of the situation he is in and that we would like to treat him in a civilised manner.
Q1 - Do you know what you were carrying?
~No response
The man appears to be withdrawn inside himself, as if he is blanking out the outside world and its effects.
Q2 - What is your name?
~No response
COL Rhys applies the MK 7 ammo to the prisoners left leg via Glock 18 delivery system. The prisoner screams and states ‘Tanaka Yoshimori’
The wound is bandaged and the prisoner stops screaming. Note – this happens after every application and answer/silence in order to prolong the questioning time.
Q3 - Who are your direct and indirect employers?
~No response
[CPT Lewis shoots the prisoner in the left arm]
Q4 - Where and to whom was your consignment headed?
~No response
[Dr Kilkenny shoots the prisoner in the right leg]

[Dr Kilkenny shoots the prisoners right arm.]
A -Yes there are. Type one’s a large party of. Don’t know location.
Q6 - Who are you working for?
~No response
[CPT Lewis shoots the prisoner in the groin. Prisoner screams but no response]
Q7 - Who were your direct and indirect employers?

Q8 – To what purpose are your employers building atomic weapons?
~No response
[CPT Lewis shorts the prisoner in the right ankle]
A - To cut a spline
Q9 - Why do your clients want to cut a spline?
~No response
[CPT Lewis shoots the prisoner in the left knee]
~No response, but screaming.
COL Rhys rises, picks up his personal issue M249 and points it at the prisoners groin and uses threatening language. He then puts the weapon aside and sits down.
Q10 - Where and why do your employers want to cut a spline?
~ No response
[CPT Lewis shoots the prisoner in the groin]
A - They want to cut Fort Apache from Phoenix because there is something on Phoenix that they want to protect.
Due to the prisoners injuries the MK7 ammunition cannot be used further at this point as this would cause dangerous injuries which may kill the prisoner.
The use of appropriate drugs is now authorised to induce the prisoner to give more info. 1LT Sackville-West joins the interrogation. The below are questions and answers asked by all 4 UNSGC personnel present. Due to the speed of the questioning it was not possible to note who asked what.
Q11 - What is being protected?
A - Unknown. Fossils, know nothing else.
Q12 - Who are the allies of Nakamura?
A – “Dee Bee ("DB") ...Deep Black”. They work for themselves along with the company.
Q13 - Where did you leave Earth?
A - Through Russia, the company gave authorisation.
Q14 - Does the company have its own star gate?
A - Yes but unknown where it is.
Q15 - What’s the time scale for the use and deployment of the weapons?
A - Months, possibly 3 months.
Q16 - How many atomic weapons do they need?
A - Lots, they do not have enough.
Q17 - How many consignments have you delivered?
A - 6 apart from the 3 failed ones this time. Ed: due to language issues, we suspect that the prisoner is referring to the actual number of uranium slugs, as per the 3 captured during this operation.
Q18 - How many others are making deliveries?
A - 3, names unknown. Ed. The number known to the prisoner .
Q19 - What worlds are they delivering to?
A – Unknown.
Q20 - How many worlds have you delivered consignments to?
A - Delivered to G0002 twice and G0006. Ed. Implies one batch of 1 slug and another of 2.
Q21 - What was your route from Russia today?
A - Taken by a crew of couriers who can open gates. Each can only go to 1 destination. Using this technique they ferry you about, it’s a long route. I have been out and about for 6 days now. NB: T1’s can activate Gates to return to their world of initial contamination. This is possible due to each batch of M1 ABC having a unique planetary ID markers.
Q22 - Where are you doing the processing of the material?
A - Don’t know, I’m a courier.
Q23 - How do you contact your contacts?
A - I don’t, my boss comes to me and tells me to be at a certain place to pick up a package.
Q24 - How do you deliver the consignments?
A - In a case, I am met at a pre arranged destination, series of jumps, they activate the gate, and I walk through.
At this point the interrogation had to be halted for medical reasons. After treatment Dr Kilkenny briefly continued the interrogation alone, to ask sum supplementary questions.
