Above: The heart of CAMP BATEMAN, our Forward Operating Base or "FOB" for this event. FYI: All the photos on this page were taken by Parkway at CON-104 CRE-WHX-04, the 2018 Spring Camp, held over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of April. There were six of us in attendence, our largest turnout to date for these

Welcome to our Worm Hole Xtreme page. Named for a comedy episode of the TV series Stargate SG-1, they are low stress, inexpensive introductions toCONTACT, used for training and experimentation, as well as relaxed fun. Like all our games, these events are non-commercial weekends, open to anyone over the age of 18 years.
So, if you are looking for a laid back weekend camping in the woods, practising survival techniques, playing short stand alone scenarios, dreaming up and testing out experimental game rules, or just chilling with ones friends, while at the same time keeping the bank balance happy; then WHX is for you. These weekend events are played in the grounds of our normal venue, the Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker near Brentwood in Essex. They are positioned in the diary in between our main events, so you can keep your eye in, and play around with ideas, tactics and strategies that would otherwise get you and your friend's character's killed off! So better to make the mistakes here than when you are off-world for real.
The aim is to keep the cost very, very low, at just the Fight School's annual membership (£10.00) plus £5.00 per night on site. You'll most likely spend more getting there! These are camping events, so you'll need to bring everything you need; food, water, cooking gear, bedding, tentage or shelter, plus plenty of clothes. There are no charging points in the woods, so you'll have to make sure you have enough batteries to run your guns, radios, lights etc. for the whole event. There are toilets on site, and during opening hours, hot soup, tea, coffee etc., can be bought from the Bunkers mess hall.
We have full face masks and other necessary kit for loan free of charge. And other players will be happy to lend you weapons or any other kit you may need, on the understanding that if you break it, you've bought it.
Above: Dressed for battle, a five person team prepares to undertake a simulated off-world mission, part of the Operation Barbarian Steel training campaign. Fortunately, if they make a mistake, unlike the major operations, their characters won't die. So a chance to play the hero, or try out an idea that might get you killed, just in case it actually works. Click image to enlarge.
These events are a nice way to ease yourself in to milssym type gaming, without any of the expense or the hassle of creating yourself a character. Think of them as a sort of meet and greet or try before you buy kind of affair. Anyway, we look forward to meeting you and then shooting you.
If you'd like to get involved, just get on to the WHX webpages and email group by simply clicking the WHX logo above, which will take you to the page where you can sign up, and introduce yourself to Justin (aka Lieutenant Sweetwater), who organises these events on our behalf. Any problems, just email me
Dean at the School, and I'll do my best to help.
