A picture of the inside of the AKUNOYA or Japanese tent, after the public has gone home on the Saturday night. We closed up the walls or JIN MAKU (Camp Curtain) to keep out the wind. Apologies for the modern kit in this image, but we were tired! We were recruiting for our other activity CONTACT! as well that weekend, so there were machine guns and camouflage clothing and kit all over the place when Sue took the photo.
As a guide to the tent's size, you are looking towards one end from about the half way mark - yes it's really big! Note the open end of the roof, this is a typical feature of some Japanese tents, and as this one was designed as a display area, rather than as accommodation, we decided to have one with drafts...
