IMPORTANT NOTICE
This site is under reconstruction, and much of it is still pre-COVID in content. Over the coming months we will be slowly updating all relevant pages. Currently only this and a few other pages are finished. However, they can be easily identified by the date specified at the top of each, thus anything predating August 2023 is still yet to be updated. Please bear with us as this is a huge website, with lots of detailed material requiring reworking. If you have any questions please email me, Dean Wayland (see header).

Please come in and have a look around and hopefully be entertained. If you would like to get involved, or you simply require more information, please email me, Dean Wayland at

Two weapons, the upper being one of the four custom made and identical 15th century style bastard swords we use for teaching. With a 76cm (30") blade, fitted with a 25 cm(10") grip and pommel, and cross guard, and weighing in at 1,250 grams (2.75 lbs). Sadly the swordsmith John Chester of Heritage Arms is no longer with us. The lower weapon is a more elaborate and expensive, a true one off custom made personal weapon, made by
Armour Class
of Glasgow, Scotland. It is a mid-16th century style Bavarian bastard sword based upon two historical examples, one in the Royal Armouries, Leeds, and the other in the Wallace Collection, London. It weighs exactly the same as the School sword, but has a 89 cm (35") broad blade and a beautiful deep black hilt of complex form. Click either image to enlarge each piece, or
